I must have passed this hotel hundreds of time in my youth, but have never been inside or in the grounds. Today, my sister and I had a lunch there and we sat in the bar. It was all very pleasant. The staff were very attentive and we enjoyed …
Gave 5 for the room we recently stayed in as it must be one of there best, have stayed in others not as good but the rooms are being upgraded. The hotel was built around 1850 and is unique in it's beautiful period style. We had a wonderful stay with excellent breakfast, made to order. One of the nights was we stayed was a complimentary night due to a slight problem we had on a previous visit. If you have a problem, which is rare from my experiences of staying here, it is quickly dealt with by the friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is in a fantastic position overlooking the sea. To make the most of this i recommend a room with a sea view. We will certainly be returning.
All the staff were excellent.
The dining area is nearly over the beach. The waiters couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. We loved the breakfast and evening meal every night. Will definitely bring the rest of the family back.
I love this hotel so much. This was my second visit and it was just wonderful. Lovely room with a sea view. The indoor pool is to die for - like a warm bath!! - and I even managed to go in the outdoor pool as the weather was so hot. |This …
What a lovely welcome we received👌 We had booked ourselves in for a cream tea, which we enjoyed with a perfect view over the bay. The staff were all friendly and John went above and beyond the call of duty and made our visit even better, by giving us a brief and very interesting history of the hotel.
We are looking forward to the revamp, the plans sound amazing.
Would really like to see some chilled out acoustic or jazz music evenings perhaps 🤔
Please keep us all updated on menus etc on social media, otherwise we forget you are there.
Excellent hotel from start to finish, lovely, welcoming & fun reception staff. |Nothing was too much trouble, the swimming pool was great as was the steam room.|Everything was clean and tidy, the room was large and comfortable and the …
Lovely welcoming staff. The double room was cosy and warm, we had a sea view which was a bonus. The evening meal was great value at £30 for 3 courses. The location is central to everything in Paignton. We used the pool and steam room which were another added bonus. This place is a little gem.
Stayed at the hotel for one night. I was the only guest in a 70+ room hotel. Felt very strange and lonely. Was it but spooky seeing more staff walking around than guests. As I was the only guest I would have thought they have given me a …
Stayed with the wife for 4 nights and a very pleasant experience it was, friendly staff and service. The breakfast was excellent 👍 we had a lovely room with a sea view, the hotel sits right next to the beach and has unobstructed views. Every thing you could possibly need is within walking distance.
We never got round to using the gym but got plenty of use of the pool and steam room.
Would definitely recommend and we will definitely return 😎
Very mixed feelings after staying here for three nights. Location great. Hotel full of character but tired in places. The temperature of our room and hotel was uncomfortably hot. Only one of the radiators could be turned off in room and so all the windows had to be opened. Room was top floor and nice size. Not great water through shower and toilet refilled continuously. Hotel was very clean .
The customer service side was harder to over look. The bar staff left at 9.30 and just left customers wondering how they got a drink, eventually someone from reception arrived and made comment that he was only there for another half hour. In general we felt staff were uninterested especially at reception, lady at breakfast who was great K.
